I'm going to begin writing anime and manga reviews for http://www.fightbait.com/!
I responded last night to a post indicating they were hiring writers. Right now the site is undergoing a transition from what is basically a blog + podcast to an anime/manga/game review site. This morning, I got a glowing response from the editor of the site telling me how thrilled he was to have me. I won't post them here, but the compliments he gave on my writing left me in a flattered state-of-mind.
The new and improved fightbait site isn't ready to go live yet, but once the editor and his partner have gotten enough things nailed down in advance, I'll begin writing for them. The position is unpaid, but it could become paid. That all depends on if the site becomes profitable or not. Even so, I couldn't resist getting my foot in the door of a site with a good amount of readership already in place. A good first step towards possibly getting a paid critic job, which is something I've always wanted to do.
Does this news indicate the end of ArizUtaku? Of course not. I'll continue to make posts here, no question. My ArizUtaku "associates" will have to pick up the slack for me though. ;)
I'll be sure to let you know once the new site goes live.

I'm not sure when we're going live. I've been working on the site design for a few weeks now. I'm hoping to be up by September, but I'm not sure how long this process normally takes. It could be sooner. Who knows.
Okay then. Guess it'll be ready when it's ready. As I understand it, I'll be working on stuff prior to launch anyway.
Well hey, that's very exciting news indeed, congratulations! :D That'll definitely be a great opportunity for you, that's for sure!
It's good to know you'll still be sticking with us here though. :) I can assure you though that me, Aaron and Laura (ahem *nudge nudge*) will do the best we possibly can to pick up the slack for you, that's for sure. ;)
Also, I want a link to that site once you guys finally get things running. ;) Good luck!
Thanks, Nate. Though it won't be too much different from what I'm already doing here, I'm looking forward to it.
I'll still post movie reviews here, along with other things. Hopefully Aaron and Laura will get to it though. They've done next to nothing ever since I added them as contributors.
Well at least one things for sure, I'm going to be able to post more of my own anime/manga reviews now, since you won't get to them before I do all the time. :P I think I'm going to miss hearing about the more obscure series that are out there though, as will others I'm sure, but I'm sure we'll read plenty about them at this new site anyways! :D
Yup, you'll be free to put up your own takes more often.
You won't have to worry about the more obscure titles. I'll undoubtedly be writing about them for the new site when the time comes. Plus, I will probably copy my reviews I do for them over to this site. Either than, or I'll post links to them.
Congrats, Matt!
